The sophisticated gown can be used in all places in which persons are exposed to a higher risk of infection, such as police or rescuers.

Use

The gown MEDIMAN® 2020 fulfils the norm for the protective clothing type 6 (EN 13034+A1) – restricted protection against liquid chemicals, as well as type B – protection against biological agents.

Material

The gown is being produced from a multilayer special nonwoven textile fabric containing polypropylene and silver. By using protection technologies spun-bond and melt-blown extraordinary characteristics of this textile fabric are guaranteed. The added silver is functioning as a natural antibacterial element. It is a breathable fabric which is able to divert human warmth. A natural characteristic of this material is water repellence–this material is hydrophobic. This special fabric in white colour which is used for the production of the gown MEDIMAN® 2020 guarantees wear comfort,is odourless, does not cause skin irritations and does not include latex or glass fibresor other allergic substances. Based on this, the gown can be worn for a longer time and thus, is more comfortable than other personal protective equipment. This materialmaintains its extraordinary characteristics also after 15 washing processes.

Spun–bond is a production method using non-woven textile fabrics which replaces standard cotton woven fabrics. The extraordinary characteristics of non-woven textile fabrics are especially firmness, breathability, water repellence and surface resistance.

Melt blowing is a fabrication method used for the production of the gown MEDIMAN® 2020 during which a polymer melt is extruded and microfibers are spreaded by airflow to a non-woven textile fabric and thus, a consistent layer is built. This technology guarantees a very good filtration characteristic as well as absorptive capacity of the material, as well as the capacity to isolate the substance within the fibre. The surface of this material does not absorb humidity, it is even, firm and more tear proof.

Reusability

The protective gown MEDIMAN® 2020 can be reused. The material from which the gown is produced enables its reuse so this gown has a longer life-cycle with respect to throw-away gowns. The technology of producing the gown from non-woven textile fabrics enables the reuse of the gown after washing up to 15 times with declared capacities of the personal protective equipment category III, type 6. The disinfection and decontamination have no crucial impact on the antibacterial effects of the gown.

Antibacterial effect

The active silver included in the nonwoven fabric of the gown kills bacteria and viruses. When in contact with the bacteria and viruses, silver deactivates skeletons of bacteria (and viruses) and causes the destruction of their cells so that viruses and bacteria cannot longer reproduce anddie afterwards.
With respect to the protective gown MEDIMAN® 2020, the antibacterial activity and efficiency has been tested under the circumstances of dynamic contact according to the norm ASTM E 2149.
The obtained reduction is R (%) > 99,9.
